This subject is always a concern for duck hunters. Sometimes the hunting terrain, weather conditions, early mornings and late nights are tough enough. This is why we offer world class accommodations to ours guests; so that you do not have to worry about anythings when you go back to the lodge after each hunt in the morning and in the afternoon. 

 

Black River Outfitters’ San Cirilo Lodge is without a doubt one of the best hunting lodges in Uruguay. It is perfectly located in the northwest corner of the country with a great view of the Black River which flows into the Uruguay River only three miles from the lodge.

 

Estancia San Cirilo is a great hunting spot because it is located in the heart of the Uruguayan wilderness by native woods and streams with a mix of some agricultural fields and potholes that are so attractive to migrating waterfowl. Most of the ponds that we shoot are within a half hour of the lodge and are easily accessed by dirt and paved roads, which can sometimes be another concern of hunters.

 

The pigeon and perdiz fields are so close to the lodge that you can literally walk to get there.

 

Punta del Diablo is another productive duck destination by Black River Outfitters. This spot is a very popular summer resort but during the winter it becomes really quiet and this makes it perfect for hunters. It is located in the low plains of southeastern Uruguay by the Atlantic coast and very close to the Brazilian border. This is an area of the country where rice fields are found in abundance, making it absolutely perfect for duck hunting. There are plenty of ponds, canals and lakes to hunt, and there is no pressure at all; you rarely if ever see another group of hunters.

 

The lodge is a small cozy hotel with private rooms, air conditioning, several fire places, a spacious living room, dining room, and expansive gardens. The service is excellent, and the food is even better. We also offer an open bar with top shelf liquors and fine local wines and spirits. It is also a perfect location for touring the beach which is only 2.5 miles down the road, where fishermen can be observed bringing their catch up on their little boats.
